Brain Vomit #24 Stubborn vs Persistent
Stubborn or persistent? According to the dictionary Stubborn means: having or showing dogged determination not to change one's attitude or position on something, especially in spite of good arguments or reasons to do so. And Persistent means: continuing firmly or obstinately in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.
There is a difference, the main difference is in how we perceive the person described. We associate stubborn with bad and persistent with good. In a way a stubborn person and persistent person are the same at the beginning. Except that the persistent person managed to prove some in past accomplishments and is going for more. A stubborn person hasn’t been able to prove anything yet. If you can see it done, persevere at it. Even if all the odds are stacked against you.
