What if we looked at purchases on the basis of how much space they take? What if we had an infinite amount of money but an extremely small amount of space? What if you don't have money and space? What if there was no judgement or socioeconomic class associated with that purchase? Would you buy that new thing if it wasn’t really better/faster/lighter than before? Do you actually need something that is better than what you have before? If space is limited, where would you put it?
That cool new thing you got sooner or later will be trash. If space is limited you probably want your things to remain working for as long as possible.
There’s only more and more of us. Soon there will be more trash in the world than actual working things. We have to start looking at the things we buy as future trash rather than some gimmick that is better than an older gimmick just for the sake of keeping up with trends.
